Our TESOL Vietnam program – with accommodation…
The TESOL Vietnam program at AVSE comes with free, western standard accommodation (26 nights) located within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the training centre. Accommodation comes in two forms, residential properties owned by AVSE-TESOL and local hotels.
Each TESOL TEFL Vietnam trainee is allocated a furnished bedroom and a private bathroom. The facilities and fixtures in each bedroom include: air conditioning, WIFI, a double bed, lockable wardrobe, desk, swivel chair and a bedside table.
Cooking facilities are available in residential properties owned by AVSE-TESOL, but not in the hotels we use. Laundry facilities are readily available regardless of where you stay while completing the TESOL TEFL programme. If you have a preference to be placed in one of our residential properties or in a hotel, you should advise the Course Coordinator a minimum of 10 days before your arrival. In the event you do not require AVSE-TESOL to provide accommodation, you may be entitled to a fee reduction of US $200.00.
There is no doubt about it. You will have all the benefits of western standard accommodation but in a typical Vietnamese neighbourhood, surrounded by local people – and your TESOL classmates.
Go Vap District, where you will stay during the TESOL Vietnam course, is a typical suburb of Ho Chi Minh City located north of Tan Son Nhat International Airport. It takes 25 minutes by taxi (US $10.00) to reach the centre of Ho Chi Minh City from Go Vap District. The historical Ben Thanh Market is a direct bus ride away (US $1.50). Landmarks in the local area include Mercedes Benz (Vietnam), Isuzu (Vietnam), the Pandora Shopping Mall, Quang Trung Software Park (the largest information technology hub in Vietnam) and the renowned Go Vap Orphanage.
While meeting the requirements of the TESOL Vietnam program will be your priority during the time you are staying with us, there will be ample time to socialise with your TESOL TEFL classmates, mix with Vietnamese people in the neighbourhood going about their everyday life and to check out what is available in the local area. You will be pleased to know there is a lot to see and do within easy walking distance of your accommodation.
The downtown area of Ho Chi Minh City might have popular tourist sites like Reunification Palace, the War Museum, the Saigon Basilica and an array of expat bars, but Go Vap has what Vietnam is best known for – local people. In a quiet moment when you reflect on your TESOL Vietnam experience, almost certainly the friendliness of Vietnamese people will immediately come to mind.
In addition to affording the opportunity to experience ‘the real Vietnam’ while you are completing the TESOL Vietnam training, Go Vap District has one of the best night markets in Ho Chi Minh City, a multitude of restaurants and all the services you would ordinarily find in a suburb of a major city. Banks, postal services, medical clinics, movie theatres, a bowling alley and more outdoor coffee shops than you will have time to visit throughout the 4-week TESOL Vietnam program are all close by.
If you would like further information about the free accommodation we provide while you are completing the TESOL Vietnam training course, please email our Managing Director, Peter Goudge: firstname.lastname@example.org
